I learned one thing from my college education.  If I need to know something, I should read.  I learned one thing from my real life experiences.  I should always consider the source of what I read.  ---John Platt

This is a list of the books you will find on my office shelves....

A Small Treatise on the Great Virtues: The Uses of Philosophy In Everyday Life.  Andre Comte-Sponville.  (A wonderful book that will allow you to realize the important things of Life)

Get a Grip On Philosophy.  Neil Turnbull.  (This is a great beginner book)

Don't Sweat The Small Stuff for Men:  Simple Ways to Minimize Stress in a Competitive World.  Richard Carlson, Ph.D.  (Very popular book)

The Book of Life: Daily Meditations with Krishnamurti.  J. Krishnamurti.  (What can you say...The Dalai Lama described him as "One of the greatest thinkers of the age.")

Zen Soup: Tasty Morsels of Wisdom From Great Minds East & West.  Laurence G Boldt.  (Great source of both worlds of thinking.  I use this book as a spark plug.)

Where There Is Light: Insight and Inspiration for Meeting Life's Challenges.  Paramahansa Yogananda.  (A wonderful source of daily thoughts)

Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating.  Walter C Willett, M.D.  (Has up to date info on all the right stuff.  Also disproves many "fad" diets.  Hey, I'm living proof)

Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy.  David D Burns, M.D.  (To me, the Camelot of Cognitive Thinking.  I read this BEFORE it became famous due to MTV's Real World.)

The Yoga Handbook: A Guide to Enhancing Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Well-Being.  Sumukhi Finney.  (Donna is the best, but I do have to cheat without her.)

Natural Cures, They Don't Want You To Know About.  Kevin Trudeau.  (You MUST READ the Disclaimer.  However, keep in mind Kevin is an ex-con.)

Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity.  David Allen.  (Helped me keep my e-mail inbox empty!!!)

How Full Is Your Bucket.  Tom Rath and Donald O Clifton, Ph.D.  (This is a MUST READ if you want to become a leader, husband, mother, father, wife, or anyone of influence!  It's all about the interactions.)

The Tipping Point.  Malcolm Gladwell.  (A very brilliant man!)

Blink: The Power of Thinking without Thinking.  Malcolm Gladwell.  (I read this before I got to see him speak.  I could squeeze him, plus you gotta love his hair.)

5 Steps To A Professional Presence.  Susan Bixler and Lisa Scherrer Dugan.  (This was a book that I read when I began in sales.  My real life experience says that you should read it and do the opposite.  Just be you!!!)

Customer Satisfaction is Worthless, Customer Loyalty is Priceless.  Jeffrey Gitomer.  (This guy gets IT.  I just wish the shareholders running the corporations would GET IT!!!)

The Little Red Book of Selling.  Jeffrey Gitomer.  (I would have saved myself a ton of time if I would have read this sales book FIRST!  Remember, Jeffrey has many columns published weekly, KEEP READING HIM.)

How To Become A Rainmaker.  Jeffrey J Fox.  (This has to be a "corporate" book.  Do you really want to quantify your day?  It does have key points and is a very quick read, so you must...)
